What is the deal with manual disk brake master cylinder? That was not a regular production item in un-boosted form. Assuming it has disks up front (in '69 you could get drums on every big Chevy except the SS427). Maybe an owner modification somewhere in the last 51 years. Maybe COPO, as stranger things have happened. Remember the COPO Kingswood Estate? They had to engineer special fuel lines before they could install the L72 (that is why the L72 wagon was a COPO). Also the orange Biscayne was ordered 7/20/68 & was built 10 months later in the 4th week of May.

It must have been an L72 car to receive 4.10 gears out back, as 3.73s were the most you could get (on an L36 4-speed) in '69. I'd like to see the transmission stamp on that TH400, as they were special Bang! Screech! higher-stall units behind the solid lifter big blocks.

I've always been interested in a '69 Biscayne 2-door with some muscle. Too bad I didn't manage to grab the radio block-off out of dad's '70 Biscayne before it was scrapped back in '78. Being a 3-speed manual car, the clutch pedal setup would have been a great score as well, but too much for me to grab, especially with dad's cheap tools and I was no mechanic back then.

In Hamilton from 1970 through 74 there was a 1970 Pontiac Strato Chief 4-door in what may have been that same orange colour. It said CN on the door. Strato Chief is a Biscayne inside & underneath really.

Heres an original 69 with a 4 gear that sold here yesterday. One complaint I have if their sale here is if you miss it going through they dont write the selling price down. They usually write what it bid to if it doesnt meet reserve.

One thing to look for on a '69 full-size Chevy are the quarter panels. The factory panels had a subtle pontoon bulge to them that is lacking on the reproduction panels. I guess it was too much investment for the aftermarket to run the panels through an additional strike through another body die. Dies aren't cheap.
