I think its actually modelled after an Opel car. Front engine rear wheel drive. Not a VW as the ad states.

I am not sure what kind of car it is but it sure as heck ain't an air-cooled platform-frame Volkswagen. I'm thinking Dacia, as in the Romanian make Auto-Dacia.

Too bad it's not a North American car brand.

These are super rare to find anywhere, might find them for sale/auction in the UK odd one at Bonham Auction House in USA and or Singapore.

They were training models use mainly in Germany/World War 2 era and on onwards.

Some were full scale models (known as cutaways) like the one for sale, others of complete motors, front suspension, steering, rear differential etc.

The attention to detail and craftsmanship is stunning, the designer of them was Werner Degener but commonly called Hohm. The designer of these models died at an early age so the likes of his genius never duplicated..

The seller had eleven of these in His Werner Degener collection of different cutaway models wow, as to how they ever came to Canada is anyones guess.

But a few days of pleasant negotiations with (Moose the seller) happy to say all eleven items safely in my collection after meeting in E-Town yesterday.

You never know what be out there for sale these days my Canadian Poncho friends, I was holding my breath on this deal to go through..
