For the people buying up all the toilet paper.

Heard a suggestion that they should also include a case of free condoms with the toilet paper for these people.  Not sure if we want them reproducing.

Wonder how Carl will take this plan? Maybe get his address and mail him some since he bought too early?

The silly part is that there was a shortage in Australia because most of their paper products come from China.
We have at least 3 manufacturers in Canada.
The only reason for low stock is because of panic buying.
The stores only stock what they predict to sell between deliveries.

That's the funny part. The grocery manager I talked to said she couldn't figure out the panic buying. There's a plant in Moncton that produces toilet paper. Supplies are plentiful and will likely continue to be.

Fear not:

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/kruger-tissue-covid-19-1.5495960

"A leading Canadian toilet paper manufacturer says its factories are working overtime to meet a surge in demand caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and vows any shortages will be short-lived.

"What you're seeing in shortages on shelves with customers is the fact that we have not been able to supply quickly enough to meet the spike in demand,"  said Dino Bianco, the chief executive officer of Kruger Products."

Thank you media for finally reporting the truth.

Did you know that Royale Toilet Paper is owned by Irving.

As in the same family that owns Irving Oil.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royale_(brand)

If they're not lining up at the pumps,

Sell them Toilet paper !

Has anyone seen an explanation as to why people are hoarding toilet paper of all things?

Problem with society is that most people only think of themselves....no. So...if you have a guy that buys all the respirators  and flips them online when there is a shortage for dr's and nurses?  So..the nurses get sick and can't take care of the sick.so more get sick or sicker. People used to come together to concur...no matter what it was! Now....It seems each person(to themselves) is more important than the other. Some of us(most on this site) will do whatever it takes to help. Not only in family but in society also! To sacrifice is the ultimate challenge....but to most members on this site...it is no challenge...

Jim, very well said and you obviously nailed it right on. We do seem to live in a very selfish society by and large and this seems to be world wide. It is a sickness that does not seem to have a cure. There might be a cure for Corona eventually but no cure for greed and selfishness. no

Then there's these folks...

https://www.cbc.ca/radio/asithappens/as-it-happens-friday-edition-1.5496727/b-c-couple-confronted-at-costco-for-buying-bulk-lysol-wipes-to-re-sell-for-profit-1.5496733

One six-pack of wipes goes for about $20 at Costco, but fetches upward of $80 online, they said. Ranga told Quan they'd spent about $70,000 in bulk buys, and raked in about $100,000 in sales.

"I don't think it would be a stretch to say that, you know, they were essentially kind of proud of this business venture that they had sort of seized upon."

Perez told Quan it's all about the laws of supply and demand, referring to herself and her husband as "hustlers."

"And Mr. Ranga called me out of the blue yesterday to notify me that following [U.S. President] Donald Trump's public address the other night, the demand online for his cleaning products had shot up and that's why he had increased his price [from] about $75 to $89 to sort of take advantage of that."
