I stole this from another site - i personally run wix filters.

a 350 that is driven on the street and want to start running a Wix instead of Fram. Both manufacturers recommend PH30 (Fram) and 51069 (Wix), which is the smaller filter. I have been running a PH5 since it has more capacity. The Wix equivalent is 51060. There is also a PH13 and 51061, which also has a greater capacity.

A GM PF25 (part #19187300) should work, about 4.25inches in length.

If I remember correctly a PF 454 Delco might even be a touch shorter than a PF25.

An AC PF454 is the shortest that I know of. I cant remember the length but very short. The last one I saw was in an inboard 350 boat engine.

I just did an interchange on a PF454 to a Wix. It becomes a 57099 Wix. That one is 3.306" tall. Will that work? I forget what application it was intended for originally. I remember when GM first came out with it, I looked at it and thought "hmmm, somewhere along the way that filter is going to come in very handy for someone on a Chevy V8". I was thinking for a car with either some linkage in the way, maybe a header tube in the way, something like that.
