As owner of one of these odd-balls I'd say this is a parts car all the way. As a project this is one car that will put you in the grave. No repop parts next to none still exist and its value even when done is next to worthless. That thing is missing so many two year only parts its not even funny.
When the 73 models came out I didn't much like the new colonnade roof style of the GM A bodies.
But there were two exceptions: the 73 Grand Am 2 door, and the 73 Cutlass and Cutlass Supreme 2 door.
GM got it right with those cars, and to this day I would still like to have a 73 Grand Am. I just missed out on a 75 in Ontario in 2015, but you don't see them for sale very often.

So much of what I have read and researched suggests that the Grand Am was designed to be the GTO, Even seen factory photos of the car badged that way. It makes complete sense with that special front end that GTO always seemed to get. Last minute marketing decision to target European sports sedans and change name was made.

There's no doubt that the grille treatment is what made the 73-75 Grand Am stand out, though I also liked the sweep of the roof and the taillight treatment on the 73 in particular. That plus the interior. I had a 77 LeMans Sport coupe in the early 80s and while it was a little under powered, it rode and handled superbly.
Had a 76 Grand LeMans which was a cross of Grand Am interior and Luxury LeMans trim, nice car, great ride and RTS handling with 350 Chevy power. Learned to drive on a 73 Sport Coupe too.
If we are remembering old rides I had a 73 Grand Am 4 door back in 82-83. Fully loaded with the 455 buckets full console. Car was white with a red interior. Had the stripe from the nose all the way down the quarters. Said 7.4 litre on the deck lid. Great car but loved gas.
'64 Parisienne CS "barn find" - last on the road in '86 ... Owner Protection Plan booklet, original paint, original near-mint aqua interior, original aqua GM floor mats, original 283, factory posi, and original rust.
this car may have not been on the road for long - the license plates of the style on the car were introduced in 1976 and used till the early 1980s - the seller description says the mileage is 76,000 - I think 1974 was a pre a kilometer conversion year
It may have been found in a barn but it has been out of the barn in the yard for many years judging by the sun damage to the back shelf, paint and dash pad
