Ok,

I should of asked if anyone cared biggrin

Both have front/rear speaker control.

The one on the left has the fader control internally and the right one uses an external fader switch.

Does the one on the right use a different wire harness ?

My understanding years ago was that the external fader is from a dealer installed. This recall is from the early 80's when I had a 69 Skylark Custom that had it. I don't recall who or how I found out.

Carl can you check the parts books and prove me right or wrong?

From your information,

it looks like I can use the radio with the external fader in my car.

 

Just by leaving the fader off.

I'm a one speaker guy biggrin

I'm sure i have an external fader kicking around here somewhere. I think I've seen them on both 69's & 70's.

The radio you have with the internal fader should have a sticker on top of the faceplate indicating it has an internal fader.
