I really miss my sweet 1956 Chevrolet 210 sedan. (1981-1984)

In April 1981 i purchased a 1956 Chev 210 sedan, that came from B.C. and was a very solid car with all the factory sheet metal. I purchased the car from a gentleman that bought it for his teen age son but his son never took an interest in it. I laugh my head off today at what i paid for the car, i paid exactly $1,000 for a very solid original car with a great drive train. The car had a sweet running 235 with stick on the tree. The car had few options but it did come with front factory seat belts, radio, and back up lights. I loaded the car with factory and dealer accessories as time went on. The car was a dark turquoise but i repainted it all white in 1982 and then added the red to the white in 1983. I rebuilt much of the mechanical's, redid some chrome and left the complete original interior that just required some clean up. I drove this car everywhere including parts of the U.S.,to car shows and it never let me down once. My dad was pleased with the car because it brought back good memories for him of when he had his 1956 Chev 150 sedan with 235 six and stick on the tree. He bought his 56 new in spring of 1956 when he was still single and it was his first new car. I enjoyed working on this car, driving it and showing and won a number of awards in 1983 and 1984 but by 1984 i was craving a 57 Chev really bad. I sold the 56 in October 1984 and bought my 57 Chev in November 1984. I have missed this car now for a number of years and like a lot of folks, i really wish i had kept it but i will say the same for the 57 that replaced it. Cheers.

Another nice one, my brother had the same car in the late 70s/early 80s but it was the 2 tone colour of your 57, the original colour. He sold it to a fellow in Southport PEI.

A number of years ago i did an on line search for "1956 Chevrolet 210 sedan" and one picture came up of my 56 Chevy. The photo was of my old 56 Chevy a year after i sold it to the new owner. The photo was taken at some CNE car show in Toronto in 1985. I wish i had saved that image because now i can not find it. I get homesick for that sweet old girl on occasion. If anyone can find it please post it here. Cheers.smile

The thing that i find real odd is that i have not seen my old 56 since i sold it in 1984. With the countless car shows and cruise nights that i go to every year, you would think that i would run into it at least once. A friend of mine saw my old 56 at a Midas garage on a hoist in Scarborough about two years after i sold it. My buddy went to look at the car on the hoist and knew that it was mine. The present owner of my 56 at the time told my friend that he was the one that restored the car completely from scratch himself. My buddy just walked away and said nothing to that stupid fool. I gave my friend crap for not putting the fool in his place for lying like that. You give credit where it is due.

Has anyone every seen this car at any car shows and cruise nights since i sold it in 1984. It is like it vanished of the face of the earth. It was still red and white when i sold it in 1984.
