Show us your automotive decals. On your car that is.

Show us your automotive decals on your car. Various club decals, factory decals on your motor, factory decals in your engine compartment, factory decals on other parts of your car, high performance decals on your high performance car, original travelers decals, government type decals, good sense of humor type decals. If it is on your car then show it. I will start with the decals on my 57 Pontiac. Cheers.

I bought the car in 2007 from an online ad. It was just over the border in Michigan. It was $1000. The transmission was blown. Seller said the car was a barn find from Iowa. It was quite solid only needing some dogleg work and work on the lower rear 1/4's. There was also several dents on the roof. The seller said it was from kids jumping on the car when it was in the barn. I got it home and found a good used transmission for $25 in Sarnia. We got it running and driving. I went through the fuel system, brakes etc and fixed the rot. It ran great!

The generator was toast so I adapted a 1 wire 6 volt alternator. I also rebuilt the carb

The seat upholstery was a little tired so I put on a set of NOS period  aftermarket seat covers

Todd, thanks for sharing that information. How long did you keep the 54 and what else did you do with it. Cheers. smile

I only had it for one summer. I remember following the three on the tree shifter adjustments to the letter from the shop manual and it shifted really smoothly. Prior she'd sometimes bind and I'd have to pull over, pop the hood and free it up! I really loved that 235!

The American 235 motors had the Chevrolet script on the valve cover and the Canadian 235's did not. I remember buying an American 235 valve cover for my 1956 Chev 235 back in 1982. I loved the look of the Chevrolet script on that motor. Todd, like you i have always loved that amazing motor. In liners forever, especially the 235/261 motor. Cheers.

Alright i will totally derail this thread now

Here is my 1953 chevrolet canadian built car. I bought it when i was 17 years old in 1994.  I bought it from the ORIGINAL owner in 1994 if you can believe that.  Little old lady 84 years old, only drove it on sundays and to her cottage on some weekends.  seriously, i dont lie about that.  It was mostly original paint, but i blew in some areas, all original in every other way.  had 73 thousand miles on it in 1994.  I was in highschool so i rebuilt the engine, because it was the thing to do, it didnt really need it tho.  I detailed the motor to the extreeme,  but i did paint it chevy blue,  not right for  acanadian car.  Sold new at Inman motors in winnipeg

I sold it in 1999,  the car is still around selkirk but now it is repainted the opposite color combo, so it sort of looks like Todds car!

This was where i also learned that in 1953 in canada, all the chevys had 235 motors,  in the USA, only the PG cars had 235, 216 on the manual trans.

My car was an original 235 with a manual trans.   By 1954 all US cars had the 235.

Pretty creative with the Sport Deluxe decal. Nice solution!

Your car has never been a feature car here, has it?

Any C.P.  member here that does not have a C.P. decal on their Canadian Poncho, well........................... go to the corner of the room and hold your head down in shame. Yes i mean right now, go to the corner of the room and hold your head down in shame or you can make a donation to C.P. and get a decal for your Poncho. It is mandatory for all C.P. members to proudly display their C.P. colours. biggrin
