Saw his obit in the paper today ( note - there is no reference to the death being related to Covid -19) He was in his 90s
He was from a different era of car dealers versus today where many dealership groups are owned by faceless corporations - He and several other Winnipeg car dealers did their own ads - Holiday chev really was a performance car dealership back in the 1970s - they brought in lots of beat up performance cars from eastern canada.
My uncle Neil Mawhinney owned the chrysler plymouth dealership down from the road on Portage ave. They knew each other from having worked at Birchwood Pontiac together.
I worked at Holiday for one summer as a car jockey - he was a tough boss.
Anyway he also has a bit of a west coast dealership history
Oh man, that's a name we all got used to in the 70's and even 80's. As I recall he loved the drag racing too, seems to me he ran a Cutlass for a while.
