Interesting internet search results -was looking for infor on an olds 442 and found info on a copo camaro in Morris Mb

Further to my earlier post today on the passing of Sherrold Haddad I was doing a search using the phrase "Sherrold Haddad Old 442"  ( he drag raced several of those cars)

Anyway my search results took me to the following page

https://www.yenko.net/forum/archive/index.php/t-125547.html

Which showed this page -note the section in yellow - wonder if anyone in morris who worked at a gas station has any info on that car

You betcha, a friend of a few of us on here owned it. Fake68 and 68sd396rag both know the guy who owned it. When he bought the car it had a really snarly 70's era LT1 and an M22 with 4.10. There had been rumours the car had been an L78 originally, or maybe even an aluminum head 396 from the factory. When he ordered the GM documents he got a shock, it was a 427 car bought new in Southern Ontario if I remember right. He ended up selling the car to the Edmonton area I believe and it eventually ended up at RM Cars in Ontario I think. Long lost track of it now.

It was black when it left here but I don't know what the original colour was.

I bet it was sold new at Central Chev in London. Many a COPO came from there.

Funny how it all went down when he was selling the car-didn't get rich but he got what he wanted and it all went crazy from there

only 2 COPO Novas came to Canada and Central sold both; one which still survives ( and occasionally raced) with a local collector who also owns 2 or 3 COPO Camaros.

COPO Novas came with the Z28 LT1 motor

Sounds like the guy with the 69 at least knew what he had before he sold it? Good for him...

I'm surprised at the low number of COPOs, we mostly associate it with the dealers ordering 427s... but COPOs were sometimes more boring taxis, off year colours, etc.
