I like!!

It's too bad that:

a) It's on the wrong coast compared to me.

b) There's this COVID-19 thing going on that has screwed up everything about buying an old car.

Ah well, it's cool none the less.  Would be neat to see some larger pics of it.

That there is a really base wagon, akin to a Chevelle Nomad. There weren't many made, but attrition over the years because "its only a wagon" and being north of the 49th parallel make it a really rare find today.

I grew up with base cars, there is no shame in it. I certainly don't buy new cars like that now, I get practically everything on them. The last 3 new cars I have bought were all wagons.

That one is so far away. There was a really nice '68 Nomad wagon I saw for sale back in 2012 out in Nanaimo. Same story, thousands of kilometers away, plus living in the city of Toronto doesn't really allow for a big fleet on a small lot.

i never knew these cars were that rare

i do know of one these cars sitting on a property just south of Teulon ( or at least it was there 10 years ago)

I drove by that property a couple of years ago and it looks pretty well the same - there was no one home so i couldn't verify it is still there - I would think it still is

I do remember the property owner telling me it was a 6 cylinder - i also remember that it was quite rusty

If someone in Manitoba wants to follow up on it just pm me and I will give you more details

Come on Cam, you've been to my place and I've got 6 on the road, just takes a bit of finesse.

The 68 I built was a base wagon also but I had option disease which I caught from Carl many years ago and there is no vaccine or cure for it! LOL That car now has 55 factory options-it was a ton of work just to find them.

I've said it before, I have a thing for base model cars.  Next old car I get I'm hoping I'll find a nice bare-bones example, stark as you can get.  It's just such a contrast to what is out there in electronics-laden new cars today, it would be refreshing to get in and drive something that just has a steering wheel, gear shift and pedals... nothing else.  smile

I was working on a deal to buy just the rubber flooring from this blue wagon in Duncan B.C. for my 300 Deluxe Chevelle.

I was willing to pay a fair price for the flooring, his time to remove and the shipping fees.

The owner and son didn't have a PayPal account for payment.  I wasn't about to e-transfer per their wishes.  (no recourse in e-transfers)

Tonight they tell me they have interested parties for the whole car now.

If anyone on C.P does purchase this wagon keep me in mind as I am interested in purchasing the rubber flooring.  It helps reduce your spend on the car as well.

Thanks!

Do we have a member in that area who might act as an intermediary?

Do we have any members from Victoria or Nanaimo?

Seller is willing to remove from car for me.

I would like a middleman for the funds transfer.

I'm willing to compensate for time and gas to pass funds along.

Randy

With the rubber carpet removed it would be a good time to check out the floor pans.  Rubber carpets tended to hold the moisture underneath if the car leaked at all, and rot the floor pans, at least they did out east.
