Wow my Grandpa had a '56 Laurentian identical colour combo and body, he had wheel covers though. Memories.

This is a very nice pathfinder deluxe 4 door sedan. I would like to see the paint code to verify the two tone colour combination as I do not think this car was painted like this originally. Most two tone paint on Canadian Pontiacs was just the roof a second colour unless it was a convertible or Laurentian 2 door hardtop It is also missing the rear paint dividers that were standard on two tone paint colours that were identified with an S following the paint code number.

At $16,000 asking price in the situation of the old car market we are in it will be a difficult sale even though you could not restore a rusty car to this calibre.

Nice car, and very close by.

I'll say it for George  ... B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L!

Very nice car.  Would look nice in my driveway... lol

I was wondering about the two-tone.  GM was really careful back in the fifties to make sure all two tones were finished off with chrome dividers.  I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been acceptable to just have a paint border below the taillights as is the case with this one.  But... never say never I guess.  That said, the colour combination looks great on this car - it wouldn't bother me at all if it's incorrect.

Same with the interior upholstery - I'm pretty sure it's not correct but I still think it looks great.  A very nice driver, but $16K is more than I would be willing to pay for it.

I agree with Mark. It'd be a great nice day driver but at that price it's going to be a tough sell. I always say "Look at what else if for sale in that price range" and there's a lot of nice cars out there for that kind of money. However, you only need one buyer!

If this car was factory two tone there would be paint dividers between the taillight and back up light delete plate and another one below the back up light delete plate so two per side. These dividers are extremely hard to find in any condition. I have a set on my 55 Laurentian that I obtained years ago at a yard sale but the mounting pins were broken when removed. I grinded the pins nice and flat and glued the dividers in place with a good industrial type body shop glue. My car was originally a solid black but two tone was added at the dealership as this was quite common as it was cheaper than ordering it from GM.

The way the interior is done is like the original pattern but with replacement materials. This is a very nice car.

I'm thinking the original interior materials would have been some kind of woven fabric.  Is that right?

The Laurentian and Pathfinder Deluxe series would have had a fabric/ vinyl interior. Pathfinder series all vinyl. The only exception would be the Club Coupe which was a Pathfinder Deluxe 2 dr. sedan that had a all vinyl interior identical to the Chevrolet Del-Ray. This series also had a Daytona weave carpet set but I will have to check my books to see if all Pathfinder Deluxe cars had carpet or rubber floor coverings.
