Looking for a complete set of Pontiac Rally Rims 15 x 7" complete with trim rings and center caps. With or without tires to fit a 71 Pontiac Lemans Sport. Contact Frank 519-369-1297 Varney ON. Or text 519-369-0088. Thank you..
You'll likely need to acquire them separately over time. Later trim rings will work, but will look different, and what color center caps do you want, black or red (pictured)?
Thanks for the info seventy2plus2. I figured I would try this, hopefully something comes up as for center caps black or red will be fine... Just wanting to make the 71 Lemans look more period correct. The car at the moment has a set of 14" Cragar Keystone rims and pretty skinny tires on it. Figure bigger wider tires will help a bit with the handling and looks. Thanks Frank
'64 Parisienne CS "barn find" - last on the road in '86 ... Owner Protection Plan booklet, original paint, original near-mint aqua interior, original aqua GM floor mats, original 283, factory posi, and original rust.
I'm going to switch to 15's once the pandemic passes for my 73 LeMans. 14" tires are like finding Hens teeth now-a-days. I have perfect tires but they have hit the 10 year old mark so they are basically garbage now. 15" Rally II wheels are available in reproduction from the big US Pontiac stores but I'm thinking of dressing down to the Poverty look, after-all it is a poorman's GTO. 15" were Standard on GTO.
Yeah, I may have to go the 14" rim route. Not in a huge rush. See what comes of this.
Thanks Ray for the info, the "Poverty Look", looks pretty good.
I've seem the US reproduction rims, but the cost's right now of them, would make my wife certify me as completely crazy...
Thanks everyone.
I have a complete set on rubber but they are different year pairs.
Both sets are HW code, 1 28 6 (Jan 28 1976) and 11 29 9 (Nov 29 1979) all M5, I think.
Rubber is 255 / 60 15 X 2 Hercules HP 4000 which are nice. One tire is 4 y/o with maybe a 1000 miles, the other is nice as well not sure how many miles on that one but looks pretty much the same as the 4 y/o tire.
The other 2 have a 235 70 15 P Uniroyal tires on them. These were on the front of the car so these tires are slightly larger diameter of the Hercules tires. These tires are ok and I was running them but you can start to see some checking near the bead. I didn't look to see the year as I am having lower back issues at the moment and the tires are stacked with the 235 70's on the bottom of the stack.
The centre caps are nothing special and they are a bit rusty or corroded but they stay in place and the trim rings are essentially what you see and the rims are scratched up where the rings attach. Rims are not rusty but the previous owner did some personal accents on the wheels to match the car color.
Only a third of way across the country from you in Wpg, Mb. You can see them on the 68 GP from the June 2017 monthly feature. https://canadianponcho.activeboard.com/t63611134/june-2017-feature-car/

Thanks Jake and Bill.
Jake, let me think about your set of tires. It be a shame to repaint those rims as they look so good. What a unique vehicle, I don't recall seeing very many GP growing up. Actually don't see them a car shows in my area either...
Bill let me know if you have anything.
I have a place here in Varney that gets old cars from out west, not the friendliest people I'll need to pop in there and see if they have anything.
Again thanks guy's.
Frank
I have a set of 14 X 6 I took off my Firebird. You're more than welcome to come and have a look. I have some loose 15"s and another set on a body, just not sure if they are 6 or 7 inch. Not too far away from you.
