Butt welding the easy way

I never would have thought to cut the metal at an angle. Genius!

That is genius.I have farted around trying to get pieces to fit and with those little butt weld adapters.I always disliked them and the gap was way to wide. That 45degree angle is simply smart.

A fella some where said once Any idiot can make something complex

Butt to keep it simple , awesome .

Thing is, for the amount of welding I do, it would not justify buying a welder and all the consumables/gear. I'd want quality stuff also.

I have a guy (and a he's cool character) just down the road from me that has a welding business and does good, affordable work. You might have seen his 80's chopped/lowered GMC, or his 80's GMC Custom dually on the road around Kensington ... both flat black trucks.

Only way to do it. You can also vise grip your patch panel on top and cut both at the same time...perfect fit.
