Characteristics of an old ragtop

Question for all the convertible owners on here. I have two currently, a 1969 impala ragtop and a 1969 Firebird ragtop. The question is does anybody else experience the same noise coming from the header when the top is up and you hit bumps? Kind of a squeak/squawk. And if so has anybody found a cure for this?

I'm surprised you've got no response. Anyway, I'm also a complete amateur, so this maybe rubbish:

Are all of your over centre hold downs quite hard to engage or do they snap over easily? Mine need an extremely hard push and I assume that's why I get no such problems. My header cannot move once it's secured!

I haven't replied as I don't have that noise. I probably can't hear it from the wind whistling in over the windows. I had it all lined up perfectly before the new top was installed but it lifted everything so I don't have a tight seal and have been too lazy too make some adjustments. I just drop the top.

The rubber may be worn out between the frame and the top of the windshield.

More likely the latches need tightening.

Owner opinion not an expert.

Sorry can't find a decent pic,

(My boot is on and if I get my way, it will come off in September)

I do live on some bumpy roads. Mine are fairly tight to latch. I could adjust the Firebird tighter but I hate to stress the mounts on the top of the windshield.
