Gutted the AM radio....

hey all! Hope the iso is treating you all well!

Its hard finding a good factory radio from 1965 here in Oz. I had a couple of dodgy units so gutted one and installed a bluetooth unit inside the body and ran the supply back through the off switch of the volume dial. Bought a couple of good 6 oval speakers, put one in the dash speaker spot, tight fit by the way, and one in the rear seat speaker position, had to cut a small flap in the rear seat panel to clear the speaker magnet, so now have can play anything I like via bluetooth with a nice factory look in the dash.

awesome!

Nice. At times I've considered that.

Can you post pics of what the radio and speakers look like?

You can buy this sort of stuff:

I plan to get something like one of these for my HK GTS:

You can also buy dual coil stereo speakers for the centre of the parcel shelf and the right size speakers to go in the kickboard position. These guys sell radios too:

Gutted an old one also, but for a different purpose. I used the ash tray opening for the stereo upgrade and concealment. No alteration to the dash.
