I think the long box was factory, a grain box? But Ive only seen them in the Prairies.

I remember those long box trucks. The one ton came Standard with rear leaf springs which were optional on the 1/2 and 3/4 tons. Most that I remember were owned by construction companies or people such as brick layers/ masons and were overloaded and worked to death and didnt survive here. Probably as rare as the long horn styles that replaced it. I also seem to remember that some would have the side mounted spare tire without having the fender modified to clear the spare due to the longer wheelbase.

Neat old truck, I knew where there was one of these in a barn down in the Kentville area, came from Sask, about a 1950 ford, original paint. I bet they ride like a truck and have about a 6.0 rear end.
