Kicking some Ford Ass !

Hey Poncho's :

Made up a neat little meme today, and thought I might share.

Anybody with me on this...?

There are a few Fords/Mercury's I'd own from the '60's to early '70's........Most of them have an "R" in the vin!

I started off as a kid being into GM, then later got into Mopars.  My first new car was a Ford, a Fox body Mustang LX coupe.  Now have an '06 GT.  Have had some Japanese brands and have lots of experience with some of the modern stuff, of many brands.  All of them have had strengths and weaknesses, good and bad points.  All brands have made some kick-butt fast cars, and all have made dogs.  Unfortunately for me I can no longer pretend that one brand is heads and shoulders above the rest - there are too many variables and cars have been manufactured too long to allow myself to be pigeonholed into one brand.  It's too late for me, I've seen too much.  Experienced too much at the corporate level to ever think of car manufacturers to be some magic place where one group of heroes rises head and shoulders above the rest - in fact they are all just people doing their job trying to make a buck and put their mark on the world - great people have shuffled from car company to car company to do their best work, or in some cases to seek out a better opportunity or to escape a job that was keeping them down.  Have read too much history and have much respect for so many engineers and stylists, and in some cases (much fewer) the business people whose combined work occasionally produce something great - but most often produce something pedestrian and reliable (which is what makes the world go round, and keeps the company in black ink).

But, I still love Canadian Pontiac from the fifties sixties and seventies.  And I get it that this is a Canadian Pontiac Beaumont Acadian site... so I'm OK to play along.  It's all in fun!

...And, sometimes I think too much.  biggrin

I always yack on about hating F**Ds for fun.

I actually still have PTSD from working as a "car jockey" at a F**D dealership for a year when I was 17. That's what troubles me!biggrin
