Does anyone know if there is a dual reservoir for my 65 Beaumont SD with out having power brakes? or having to upgrade anything besides the master cylinder? thanks for the help as I have no idea.?
Yes there was a dual master for drums front and rear in 1966 or 67 chevelles.
Thing is I think it only came on power brakes, I could be wrong.
I also think they came with bigger brake lines????
if you want to do a dual upgrade with all 4 stock drum brakes. Buy a master cyl for a 1967 chevelle(must be the chevelle one not beaumont) it will fit right onto your 65. Then get the combination valve for the same 1967 chevelle(or source a used original prefered). you will hve to reconfigure the steel lines, and the main line that runs to the back will need to be changed from the 3/16 up to a 1/4 steel line.
I have done this complete conversion on at least 4 of my 64/65 beaumonts, and it is the greatest thing for safety , and it still appears as stock as possible.
this is all for stock manual drum brakes, but will work with stock PB as well.
Wow Thanks for that info, I did see it done on some you tube vid but not on my car, a chevelle, it showed conversion pieces for the brake lines, where I can find those not sure, thanks alot for that Cheers Joel
Do not use any disc brake parts if you are sticking to all 4 drums. Use 67 drum brake stuff only. You are looking for a 67 combination valve. Not sure if reproduced or you might have to find an original.
