Easy way to solve the "problem"........next buyer should be Canadian and should bring it home.

Surprised the bids are so low.....but there are still 6 days to go.

C84F45D1-78EE-493E-8D5A-20AB497E5A96.pngA quick look at the pictures and the condition is evident. It needs door skins and 1/4s and has patches in the trunk. Also needs the interior redone and is missing some exterior trim.

Upside to owning this: Youd have the only one at a car gathering.

Downside: Having to repeatedly explain what it is.

Downside #2: Hearing half-wits sprinkle EH? into the rest of the conversation about it, assuming theyre saying the funniest thing youve ever heard.

So its titled as a Pontiac, naturally. Wonder if title says Acadian and or Beaumont too?

It was originally black with a black top & red interior. It would have been a looker when new with the proper SD trim in place all shiny & new. Also, power top. I believe they were more popular percentage-wise than in the U.S. because in Canada we could cheap out on a base Beaumont convertible and still have the push-button "wow" factor of a power top.

That auction car doesn't look bad from the underneath. Convertible frames were worse for rusting because being boxed fully the air couldn't get at it to dry it out.

I dont see the problem with it being titled as a Pontiac. I owned a 1966 Beaumont wagon and on the Ontario title it was a Pontiac as the make and Beaumont as the model. This was in 1977. A friend had a 63 Acadian vert and it was also titled Pontiac Acadian.

Yeah, my '68 Beaumont was titled as a Pontiac as well.  For some reason the registry of motor vehicles must not have had a separate category for Acadian or Beaumont.  RMV really only cares about the VIN anyhow.

I don't think it's a big deal, but there have been some heated arguments about it here, in the distant past.  Sold at Pontiac dealers, in some cases with Pontiac styling cues and stylized "arrowhead" emblems, but marketed as separate brands.  So, either way works for me, personally.

Wow - that's pretty low. I figured around US$12,000 - $13,000. Wouldn't you love to buy that for CA$9250.....smile
