Just found a film of the same match factory in Poland that my grandfather worked in
He was employed there from 1922 until 1958. He was a machinist. He passed away in 1961.
I never met my grandfather,so this film was a real eye opener for what working life for him was like.
Funny how things work,my father was a machinist /tool and die maker, and so was I.
Such a small insignificant item...a match...but someone has to make it.
I was really surprised at the efficiency and machine workings of the factory....didn't expect that for a match factory in 1950.
The company is still making matches today in the same city.
Film is 4:05 min.

I've been an IT/computer guy for 30+ years and have a good understanding of how they work.
Many people think computers are magical and mysterious. They're really not.
What I find amazing is the machines like these in old and new factories. This is where the real "magic" is.
