Is Your Speedometer Inaccurate? Here Are A Few Tips To Correct It

https://www.chevyhardcore.com/tech-stories/other-tech/is-your-speedometer-inaccurate-here-are-a-few-tips-to-correct-it/

"If your cable-driven speedometer is reading incorrect mph, in order to correct the problem,

you first need to know four things about your car:

1. Tire diameter

2. Rear end ratio

3. Transmission's drive-gear tooth-count

4. Speedometer's driven-gear tooth count "

A lot of good info! I just installed a GPS speedo where the clock was. Clocks never work so dont miss it.

I found something interesting with my Parisienne. When I put in the 4 speed and took it for a spin I found the odometer to be bang on. However, the speedo reads a bit high or low, I can't remember which.

I checked the odometer along Glenmore Trail ouside Calgary heading east. It's flat as a pancake, and there's a crossroad every mile (got to love the Western Canada grid roads) for about 10 miles.
