Nice welcome into Ontario at the Stevenson cottage

So was fortunate to have a custom ordered breakfast from the kitchen of Carl as I make my truck and various car parts delivery  heading into Quebec. I think my mom was surprised I actually have some very nice friends. I caught a supper in Winnipeg the night before also with friends so feeling very fortunate. The centennial run continues. Such beautiful roads almost all the way but going through that gorgeous  Canadian Shield at 90 klics even on double lane divided highway is a test of self control. Did well for 99% of the time except to pass a semi before White River when I ramped up to 130 to make it quick. Just got around him and there was the radar car, only one Ive seen since leaving BC. Told mom to take my wallet for bail money but for some reason he didnt pursue. Must have been doing paperwork or something. What a big and beautiful country we live in.  Mom summed up today best when she said I didnt know this country has so much water and rock. Just spectacular.

My Brother used to live in Dryden ON in the 80s

I made the trip from southern Ontario, in 1985, in my first 1969 Pontiac

Used a case of oil but she got me there and back.

It is great to see that she is enjoying herself.

Love to catch up to you in the Morning on the 13th.

If you go to the falls.

If not, there will be another time.

Just home from our 5 day stay there. What a great time but certainly the highlight was being able to make breakfast for one sharp 99 year old mother and her son! But Jerel, it looks to me like you forgot to eat your share of the bacon, toast or strawberries!

Seriously, it was great to see you and so much fun meeting your mom. I was mad, we forgot to get you to sign the guest book but I'm sure Jo made a note in there, she always does if we forget to ask guests to write in it. Our kids arrived less than an hour after you left....too bad they hadn't been able to come just a bit sooner.

I wish the weather had been better on Saturday. Today was totally different, clear, sunny and 28*, we enjoyed two meals on our new deck today. Lots of watersports originated from our dock today including the kids pulling the "old guy" on skiis.

Todd, Jerel will tell you, our place is "rustic" but we love it. We see so many beautiful gazillion dollar cabins but our's feels like home to us. I tell people that's my home from about May-October, I just have to commute to Manitoba for work sometimes...

Comfortable, rustic, and cozy are great descriptions of it. I know there is probably more fun had in your cabin than some of the multi million dollar homes Ive built for people on our lake. Many of the ones we built were just show pieces and couldnt offer what yours does. It did allow me to make a living though. Thanks again. It was a great send off for our day.

That cabin is on my bucket list !

I'll find a co-pilot and head up there some day.

Just say the word Randy. After November 1, I'll have to check my schedule though. I hear retired guys say they are busier than when they had jobs!
