Could have cleaned it up a bit and took better pictures. At least the seller showed the whole car.

These 73-75 Pontiac A body cars are a classic "Fools Errand" scenario and I speak as an owner of one. The cost to acquire the parts and restore the car far exceeds its value, it is a situation where the Whole is less than the sum of the parts. He says he's got $10,000 into it in parts and we say its not even worth asking price. It is a shame because when new this was a nice car and he's right the factory sun roof is a super rare option.

I put $1,800 in mine this spring between new battery, wheels and tires and I'm telling you honestly I really wonder what I was thinking. I have an appraisal on mine at $17,000, which I questioned the day I got it,  but I think I'd be lucky to get $5,000 out of it and mine looks pretty darn nice beside this heap. On top of that mine really does have a Big Block.

To me this Grand Am with no nose is a $2,500 car tops.

No nose cone (typical problem with these cars as the flexible plastic deteriorates and falls apart over time) - I think you can get a fibreglass replacement, or at least they were available about 10 - 15 years ago when I was looking to buy a Grand Am.

The interior is kind of a rat's nest - mismatched steering wheel, upholstery not in good shape, plastic faded, etc.

And my biggest pet peeve of all, wires hanging down under the dash, which always makes me wonder what kind of can of worms will you open once you start to look at the wiring...

I hate to be too harsh, but I agree with Todd's estimate on this one.   This car needs $10K spent on it to be worth $10K, and I really like these cars.

That said, I'm no longer of the mindset that I have to get all my money out of an old car, as they are never worth what you put into them.  It's a labour of love, a hobby, so you spend money to have fun and if you lose money when you sell it, it's still money well spent.  I mean, if you go on a vacation and blow $4000, you don't expect to get your money back when the vacation is over, right?  If your hobby is golf, you can never recoup your club membership, green fees and golfing clothes, you could sell your clubs, but never for what you paid for them.  I could go on, but I don't view the car hobby as any different than any other hobby - you spend money to have fun, that's it.

Replacement fibreglass nose still available, it's expensive. He says he has all the parts (including the nose?), and yes it's rare with those options. Agreed its overpriced...my wife would hate me if I dragged this home.
