This car appears to have been been fitted with a factory style Monte Carlo SS dual exhaust system for the 1984-88 Monte Carlo SS. Pontiac never offered this system and in fact never offered any hi-performance engine in the Grand Prix, not even the 2+2. Pontiac dual tailpipes consisted of a dual outlet muffler mounted behind the rear differential with exits behind each wheel. The Monte SS factory system featured a high flow Catalytic converter dual exits into resonators hung in the usual places ahead of the differential.
