another nice 61 bubbletop

Maybe not the model that most people think of but still nice and not commonly seen - I spotted this outside a country church last Saturday

I don't think GM made an ugly looking full sized car in 1961

I agree.  The lines on all of the '61 models were pretty much perfect, the best iteration of the generation IMHO (no offence to those who own '62 - '64s, just an opinion).

This roof line is an excellent styling feature on all of the GM models that had it in 61. But my favorites by far are the 61 short wheelbase Pontiac - Catalina and Parisienne - followed closely by the Impala/Bel Air. I find the styling on the Olds and Buick interesting but much busier than the Pontiac and Chevy. In fact, I'm torn with respect to the Pontiac.  I can't decide to this day if my favorite is the 61 bubbletop, the 62 convertible style hardtop, or the 67 GP 2 dr ht. Love them all but while I've gotten close a few times, I have never actually acquired any one of these three models. The best one that I let get away was a 61 Parisienne in laurel green, gorgeous color and in excellent condition, but too pricey at the time.
