I was at an auction on Friday that had probably a dozen collector cars of varying conditions. The first three went for between five and seven hundred, an 82 Cadillac, 75 Riviera 62 Buick. The next car was a 64 Parisienne four door sedan, 283 p/g. Very rusty, pop riveted patches in the trunk, rotten doglegs, even rotted out and Bondo around the gas filler door. The interior was all there but typical wear for an old car. The seller declared it would run by pouring gas down the carb, 36,000 showing, obvious that it had rolled over. Selling bid, $1900. I thought that was high, but I guess if two people really wanted it, not surprised. Also it looks a LOT better in the picture.
Yes, in Ontario rust belt. Most of the vehicles were a reasonable price for condition. A 71 GMC longhorn went for $9700. Unrestored but a survivor with very little rust and a 3/4 ton about the same condition with a standard length box went for $7300.
That's a high price for a Parisienne as described.
