I was at Grand Bend Dragway on Saturday and got my Pontiac G8 GT into the 12s on a pass were I lifted to avoid breaking out. Glad I did, I ran a 12.98 on a 12.97 dial at only 103 mphj and change. My top speed for the day was 109.19 mph. My previous best time was 13.28 on a scorching hot day. I made it to the quarter finals, too. It was a great day and the car performed well. It likes the cooler air, for sure.
I bought the car as it is. LS3 cam, DoD delete, Kooks long tube headers with Kooks catted X-pipe, GXP mufflers, Camaro 3.27 rear differential, upgraded valve springs, upgraded rocker arms, and a custom tune. Sorry, it kind of sound like a foreign language, but there it is. It got 27 mpg and change on the way home from the track, too. I'm not used to a hot rod that gets killer mileage. My old Buick sure can't, but it's a fun beast too. I'm a lot busier in it getting it down the track, that's for sure.
