Randy giving up a family Thanksgiving on Monday event is a small sacrifice for staying well. We (our families) are doing the same and are having a group phone call on Monday. If we all want to get back to some sort of normality in our lives this is what we all have to do! Be well, be safe.

Traditionally we host in our home for a fairly moderate sized group of 10 family or so but this year we decided to try and have the dinner on the patio with just me and my 4 children. One of my daughters is pregnant so we are being super careful. All of my children are working from home, only Dad heads downtown 3 or 4 days a week right now to the office.
we would have a small get together of about 12 normally, sister in law tested positive and she has been around the rest of them. Brother in law is on his death bed with a real bad cold but does not have covid. With only 2 of us I will not bring out the turkey shape mold that i fill with kraft dinner, let harden then pour gravy over
We are going to friends for dinner. There will be 4 of us. Sadly my son is stuck in Ottawa and can't get to the island. I haven't seen him for over a year. I just heard they won't be relaxing restrictions at Christmas either- He'd need to get permission from the PEI gov't to come and he'd have to self isolate for 14 days before he can be with us. There's no way he can take three weeks off.
I just heard there were 17 cases in Moncton so we may start seeing community spread here.
Me, my wife, and her Mother are going to have turkey dinners delivered.

Problem is, today's exposures won't show out as data for a week or two, so people can think they are safe and everything is fine but don't find out until it's too late that it wasn't.
No big dinner here either, usually there is about 7-10 people for dinner at my parent place, but my Oldest daughter is about to give birth in the next few weeks
and my wife will be going in with her for birth, so no chances taken here, (First Grand Child). Parents got mad but still get a pie delivered from them, LOL.
In Toronto Medical Officer of Health is saying just immediate house hold members for dinner.
Dr. deVilla, this woman shows real leadership but so far the Province is ignoring her. What does she know its only the largest City in the Country. In reality she has the most responsibility of any other Provincial MOHs save QC or BC.

Sounds very familiar, ignore the medical community, science, and reality.

A friend of my wife's father has it. He lives in Miami and has been on a ventilator for a few days now. It's not looking good for him. I hope your brother in law recovers soon Kevin. It is really concerning how this virus can hit people hard who have no previous health problems.
This is one strange virus. On CBC today they were talking to a Covid researcher. He said that some patients who have chronic pain have the pain disappear when they get infected. Some of them report the pain stays away even after they are cured. Very strange. I hope your brother in law fully recovers Kevin. My wife has a friend who's father has it bad. He lives iin Miami. He's on a respirator and was placed into an induced coma. They can't bring him out of it and it appears he's had a minor stroke and there are a number of small blood clots in his brain.
