I can't imagine the forces exerted on the driver through these runs - you must feel like you just went through 10 rounds in the ring afterwards.  Not to mention that you are putting your life on the line with each run.

Yeah it is amazing technology. I'm guessing that racing won't be happening with any fans either. Have enjoyed these guys the last couple of years at Pomona. Under 4 seconds to reach over 300 mph. One run last year was 329 mph. in 3.87 seconds. How they can make that horsepower stick to the track is beyond me and like you said to keep it under control.

Doug is Connie's nephew and the late Scott Kalitta's cousin. Currently 2nd in points with two races to go.

Kalitta Air is the largest privately owned airline (non scheduled) with 24 747's and 8 767's.

Doug is a 747 pilot and one of their biggest customers is the US Armed Forces.

NHRA has had fans in the stands now for about a couple months with all pandemic safety measures in place.

Running a thousand feet they regularly go over 330 mph and 3.66 seconds recently in Dallas.

Some Funny Cars (with more down force) have run 335+mph recently in 3.7 seconds.
