Beautiful 1955 American Pontiac chieftan..4 door v8 auto with power windows..the interior is perfect and better than new.first year with Pontiac v8..low mileage ( 61000 Miles) awesome survivor. The body is solid with minimal rust at front of engine bonnet lower corner at chrome..It is pictured in a local paper front page at a car show in southern Ontario in 2012..everything works..including original under seat heater..it has like new wide white corker tires..it has been stored here on pei since 2012 and has been only driven 100 miles this summer... it has power steering, power brakes ,power windows plus much more.it even has original working am radio..all lights in dash work. It has old time horn that plays tunes on the horn.it also has old school blue lights inside top corners of windshield and magnaflow dual exhaust. It has been appraised at 14000 in Ontario..It has a small spot on drivers side rocker where paint is peeling..and transmission leaks when sitting a long time..starts and runs perfect and stops like new. In all my years around old cars ive never seen one with original power windows in a 4 door before this car. $7500. The price is very firm. I have 10 other classics and just about every man toy. I do not want to trade because if I had room I wouldn't sell this Pontiac . Thanks. B

That certainly appears to be a very good value.

I LIKE IT !!! Power windows was rare in ANY car back in the 50's. Just lose the wheel covers please.

I like this car too but look at the work that has been done in the trunk area. Both sides have been patched where the wheel well and inner quarter panel meet. In my experience with 55-57 Chevs and Pontiacs when rust is in that location there is a lot more hidden rust. The price is ok but if you want to fix the rusted area correctly money adds up fast. If the car will pass a mechanical fitness inspection at $7500 the car is a very nice weekend cruiser.

Good eye.  I just glazed over this area when I looked at the pics.

Not being intimately familiar with '55 - '57 Pontiacs/Chevys, I assumed that since it is all painted over that it was just a sloppy factory sealer job or something like that.  Your post proves that you really have to do your research before plunking down the cash.

Thanks for your insight!

Looks like the trunk repair might have been done with thin fiberglass sheets. This car seems worth a proper repair of the trunk area.
