FREE: 348 with bus

If you really want a 348 for free, you have to take the bus too...

That's an awfully big shipping crate for a 348 engine.

I think he should be paying money for the removal of that thing.

Interesting that he posts no photo's of the engine.

I think this is one of those situations where it is better to harvest the engine, and sell it on its own. Then use the money to clean up the bus.

Alternatively sell it as strictly a restoration project. The way it is now he is emphasizing the engine and then you have to take the bus, Thats a hard sell.

This has been on kijiji a few times. The engine picture in the previous ad just showed a grimy 348 engine. It is a truck only block, so the compression ratio might be an issue. It would depend on the cylinder relief cuts. I have seen 409 truck blocks with huge cuts to lower the compression ratio. The truck blocks are good for blower motors.

Interesting find.  You never know what you'll see on kijiji.

From the paint scheme, it looks like it was an Edmonton city transit bus - I have to wonder how many miles would be on the 348 and what kind of shape it would be in from all that stop and go driving combined with long idling times.  That said, it would have been well maintained by the transit people.

Too bad it couldn't be converted to a camper or, to think outside the box... a car hauler - years ago I remember seeing a few school buses converted to race car haulers around here.  I suspect it's probably too far gone for that, and will most assuredly end up as scrap.
