I'm looking for a source or supplier of GM plastic bodyside molding "bathtub" clips as shown on the right in the attached photos.
I'm sourcing them for a 1968 Impala project but I believe they fit several Pontiacs including some 1962 full sized models and 68-70 cars with the narrow vinyl on stainless body moldings.
The clips are 1 inch long by 5/8th inch wide facing outward; and the tub is 1/2 by 1/4 inches. They press into an oblong hole in the body.
I have not been able to find them in the major restoration suppliers' inventories.
I'm hoping someone can point me to a specialty supplier that may have some of the clips I need.
These are on the 62 on the top of the rear quarters. The ones on the car are rotten but I could measure them tomorow to see if they are what you need to look for. Can you measure the hole in the car?

Don, those measurements you provided are close enough that these would work for me if I can find them at Ames or elsewhere as seventy 2plus2 suggested.
(By the way, I don't know if you heard that Steve Ames, the founder of Ames Pontiac Parts, passed away on Dec 20.)
Howmac, if I can't get new ones I'd be interested in any good used ones you can spare.
Acadiasrus, appreciate it if you can find that link.
Ames page 112, part PJ290looks like the right one in the catalogue I have.

I remember Donny up in Edmonton was looking for some, and I sent him the info. He said they were discontinued, so he might have been looking for the larger one.
Here are some pics with the dimensions penciled in. The bathtub part seems to be bulged at the bottom, which is probably closer to 3/8 inch where it squeezes to enter the oblong hole. Also the width dimension in photo 2 is to the side of the plastic bubble, not to the gasket as the diagram shows. I can use any clips with these dimensions, or close to them.
