Rebuilding A-body seat tracks

Pulled the bench seat out of the El Camino. Seat tracks were seized so removed and lubed them up.

How do I separate the tracks ?

Trying to remember as it has been many years but is there a little tab or something that can be bent. I think once the lube does its thing and you are able to move them it will be quite obvious what needs to be done. I had both of mine separated and think I had to replace a ball bearing or two.

Any news on this? I've got a 2 sets of seat tracks from 1970 b-body buckets that I'd like to rebuilt.

Pulled the tracks off the seats. Couldnt separate them so I sprayed cleaner inside. Dried them by blowing all the gunk away.

Let them sit for a while before I sprayed white lithium grease. Slid them one way then the other which lubed all the moving parts. Got easier the more I moved them.

Hope this helps !

Take them apart on a big blanket.
