I have to blame / thank the dog on this one.

Walking the dog lead me to my "new" truck.
I spotted this 2006 Silverado truck a few years ago (one street over) and asked the guy if he wanted to sell back then....it never seemed to be used.
He said no,but told me how he bought it new in Houston for $7,000 U.S. when he was working there.
Dealer was clearing them out because 07's were out.No one wanted it...no air. Looks black, but is midnight blue.
I was walking the dog on Thursday night of last week down that street and the truck had a for sale sign on it .I called the number and the woman said it was her late husband's truck.
He died last June. I had seen it for years,no rust,4.3 six, manual 5 speed...it's what Chevy called a work truck...bottom of the rung.
I didn't haggle on the price....she could have gotten more I'm sure. She said she felt good selling to me because I knew about the truck and her husband.
Has 17 inch wheels and I got 4 studded snows on rims in the deal as well. Not a spot of rust anywhere on this beauty.
It rides nice and shifts smoothly. AM/FM radio is the sole entertainment package, and roll down windows for air conditioning.
No key fobs.....as plain as it gets...no carpet...just rubber mat flooring.
I love the single cab (getting rare these days) and short box (also getting rare)
A 15 years old "new" truck, driven only 2,000 miles a year...interior is better than spotless.
The guy also had a 2000 Jaguar (Texas car) and a 1994 Mini (both going up for sale)
Only issue, the snow tire wheels are crappy... peeling chrome...so I may have to improve those with a purchase from PnP after the winter.
Soft undercoating underneath and a hard tonneau cover is going to be next to protect this gem

Yeah good for you George. The truck is just about broken in and you have gotten used to standard transmissions in most of your vehicles now.

Perfect "normal" truck. Good score. Funny, but it really looks to be the size of the new Colorado doesn't it? Maybe smaller even.

Great story and great truck. Many sellers have become attached to their possession and feel so much better knowing it is going to someone who will treasure it.

Great find/buy! Bare bones like my 2006 GMC (except mine is a long box, automatic and a 4x4).
