Hello from Hamilton!

Hi, I'm John from Hamilton. I'm a bit of an imposter in your midst ('66 Impala), but I've been assured as a B-body "cousin" I'd be welcome!

Here are a few pics of my car:

The car is an Oshawa-built '66 SS with a 283 and a Powerglide. The brief history is that it was my friend's grandfather's car (and had been in his family since new). When he passed away, my friend inherited the car, and we did an epic road trip to California and back in it. After that, it mostly sat in storage for a few years (maybe one token summer cruise per year). Ultimately, she decided to sell it, and I figured why not make it mine! I drove it on and off for a couple of summers, and then kinda figured I was going to either have to make a project of it, or sell it... So then I headed off down the slippery slope! Wheels, tires, disc brakes, tubular control arms... And at this point I'm about a year deep into a 5-speed manual + LS swap project that I work on in fits and starts. If you're interested in that, I've got a thread over on Chevytalk.

Welcome here, and absolutely we are happy to have you even if your car is only a "cousin" to the cars here! Heck, we even have a few guys here that like cars that start with "F".

Welcome John, sweet 66! Those wheels really suit it.

The bay looks to be a great place to shoot cars, never thought of it. I'll have to head down there this summer.

Be sure to be a regular member here!

So, truth be told, I'm not from Hamilton, I'm also an easterner... I'm originally from Newfoundland. Embarrassingly, I've "driven by" many times but have yet to make it to PEI.

Welcome!

Beautiful car and great road trip pics!  I recognize many of the scenes from SF and the drive down the #1 coastal highway.  We did that part of the trip in a white Impala about 7 years ago, but it was a rental 2013 model... much less coolness factor than yours!  It sure seems like a lifetime ago given how the world has changed since then.

From the quality of your pics I assume photography is a hobby of yours?  Anyhow, enjoy the site... there are a lot of good people here.

Welcome from the Okanagan valley. Good to have you on here. A few of us have some non conforming vehicles hidden in our garage.

Wow, Chevy guys coming out of the woodwork now eh?

Kevin, that looks like a nice example! I'm always a sucker for a not-too-big Torq Thrust style wheel too.

So that's the second mention I've heard of breakfast... Where do you guys go?

Thanks! That was a great adventure. And yes, photography is one of my hobbies, though my skills are a bit rusty these days.

Nope.  Can't get out of it that easily.  I saw those shipping containers that you bought for storage sheds.  You are a Maritimer.  confuse
