Wanted 1966 Sport Deluxe Seat belts

Looking for factory front and rear Seatbelts (Fronts with retractors) for a 66 Beaumont Sport Deluxe (same style as in photos). Would prefer black and a complete set (4 seats) or just buckles and clips in any colour. I have new decals and can restore them if needed. I believe this style came in Sport Deluxe Beaumonts, SD Cansos and possibly Canadian Chevelles also?

Many Thanks.

Those were only factory if the deluxe seatbelt option was checked, otherwise they are different.

That was the same option in full size Pontiacs and I would assume Chevs for 1966 as well so should be a lot out there.

Beaumont may have had in 66, but the Canso line never had the retractor covers until 67. But if looking 67 Canso would be the same..

Possibly, If they have the deluxe seat belts. As far as lots out there, unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case.  Seems really hard to find.  Still hoping

I have never seen a set come up on Ebay, I looked for 5 years and then bought new GM ones.

They do pop up... but rarely. The Tin man used to have some from larger Pontiacs. Years ago I found a single brand new Bright Blue belt with a bulk buy of about 8 other random new GM belts. One of which was a new black Deluxe belt like the one you are looking for. (I sold it to a Member here a few years back.)

Sorry I was assuming they were pretty common as I have a couple sets on my driver cars and I might have a set in a parts car.

I'll have to look once it warms up a bit. (-30 this morning here.)

I suppose they might be quite rare given the general indifference to seatbelts back then. I know my dad got talked into ordering them when he bought the 66 Parisienne but only with the on-belt retractors, not the floor mounted reels. Sort of odd.

If I have any they wont be black though.

Good luck. I have been looking for a few years. My 66 SD came with this factory option, Tin Man still had some red belts like these when he shut down but no black. I have my back seatbelts but my front seat belts were missing and have not found any to replace them yet. I saw a set of blue belts awhile back but the owner would not let them go.

Personally, I kind of like the standard non-deluxe belts better as they dont have the badge that marks up so easily.

Heres a link to a thread that provides some photos of the belts.

Also a picture of the Bright Blue belt I picked up a few years back for the third rear passenger.

Yikes, -30....buuuurrrrr.   I think I found a set of retractors so even if you have the buckles and clips that would be awesome.  They seem super hard to find so any help would be great

My car came with the standard belts but they needed redoing so I opted for the chevelle style retractor ones with fisher tags, the set new was 300.00.

I had to have a friend with a graphics company make new centres for mine.

Finally got the courage up to go tromping in the snow and look at my 66 parts cars. Three of the four actually have the Deluxe belts (and one I couldn't find any belts at all so I wonder if they didn't get some kind of sales push in western Canada. Hard to say from a sample that small though.

Of course the aluminum centres are either gone, broken, or scuffed up real bad.

Two sets are tan and one is green.

One set of retractors is the floor mount and the others were the reel type.

If you still need some or parts of the setup let me know. I have to say I won't enjoy taking the assemblies out right now though, so the price well reflect that. If you could wait...

By the way I'm curious if these deluxe belt designs were one year only. I cant remember what they  had in 1965 and by 1967 they had changed to a button type.

Can anyone confirm?

Found out from another site that the 66 Beaumont also had the retractors (none in 66 canso) but the Deluxe (female end) came in the 66 Canso and 67 Beaumont. 67 Canso was diff. Hard to figure all this out!! What model..what year...came with what belt!!???   67 Canso

If it helps, I can confirm that a 66 Beaumont deluxe (the one I have is very original) could come with the deluxe 66 design belts and the floor retractors.

The option code from my VVS documents was A39 Deluxe seat belts front and rear.

I really appreciate you checking in those frigid  temps. I just managed to locate a set from tburgGM which I will try to restore. Albeit, they are not black so I will have to paint them (fingers crossed it will work).    Who knows, I may get back to you (when it warms up)  if these ones don't work out.

Many thanks,

Brent
