Man, that's sad to see.  Amazing that the house survived through all the intense heat.  The Airstreams are a real loss as well.

Hopefully you have been able to start rebuilding and moving on.

Canadian Poncho- yup those were bee boxes next to the shop. I had 5-6 honey producing hives and a ton of equipment -all of which Is toast. These mountains have black sage which when theres enough winter rainfall produce one of the worlds finest honeys. Only happens about every 3-5 years but the honey doesnt ever crystallize like most. Later nectar flows from other native plants like buckwheat taste entirely different, are darker and do crystallize over time. Im nursing one hive along right now but with no gear left. Im not planning to get another project unless its a vintage Euro Merz or Porsche, but thatll only happen if we sell out and get a little place in France. Planning on downsizing and splitting time in T.O. With the great grandkids and maybe Côte dAzur. The vintage vehicles werent insured (long story)- however we are in a lawsuit with the local Hydro here(SCE) who caused the fire which could be a decent windfall by summertime.

Will you be getting a replacement for it Murray? Was it insured against what happened to it?

I think it's my last rodeo! my wife reminds me that "it was ONLY a car, Murray!", but WTF do they know?? Seriously, I'm spending time on a vintage 1954 Spartan Manor trailer I bought to maybe Airbnb here, or as a cool ass guesthouse. Almost done with the birchwood interior which was all original but some water damage.

The vehicle and trailers had no coverage because they never went anywhere and they wanted too much as a business policy (airstreams),so I gambled. However we're in a lawsuit with the CA veersion of Hydro who caused the fire and will probably come out of it pretty well by mid summer. Thinking we might sell the ranch and move to our smaller rental 10 miles away (which also miraculously survived ) and be free to come to TO for the grt. grandbabies and possibly spend time in southeastern France where we can duplicate this weather with no natural disasters!

That's where just maybe a vintage Euro Merz 230SL or Porsche comes in!

Here's are pics of the back door, Spartan and the '54 P.U. that I fortunately sold before the fire.

WOW. That really is sad. So sorry this happened. Fire is so unpredictable. Glad to see your house survived.
