Yup...most I won't even reply too. then you get adds like this? Someone stole the trans..but he never noticed? Then the story about the truck...then the truck...give me a break. Pull up to the gas station and pump a few hundred into it...You do have to laugh sometimes...or most times... all yours for only 15g

Collectors item. Needs a bit of work, probably pump a few hundred into it. Was originally my friends grandfather who served in the millatary. When he passed away I went over to his ranch and found it in the barn. Had about a liter of gasoline in it, just enough to get it to my house. Back in 78' when I went down to new mexico it was stolen from me bye the Mexican cartel. while it was in the Walmart parking lot. It was in a high speed police chase. Was gone for about 2 weeks, the N.M. police department found it in a motel parking lot about 10 miles away. (Message for more stories on it). It has been sitting in my yard for a couple decades I went to turn it on about a week ago but it looks like someone stole the transmission. Anyways, very reliable vehicle. Used but good condition

That is one of the worst for sure, no price.
You know it's way over priced. I like the one where the add says gently driven. Needs a few things.

I seldom do either. A couple of times it's been an item I've really wanted so I've called. Typically the seller is around Winnipeg and usually about an hour from me. I explain I don't want to waste his time or my time and money by showing up only to find out it's not a price I would pay. Most times I've been able to get a ballpark price that way, and in the cases I wasn't able to, I said thanks and goodbye.

Some sellers likely don't realize the number of leads they potentially lose when they put a price of $12345 or $99999 as some folks search by price. Folks who want "best offer" should list in an auction.

One of my favourites goes something like this:

"I have too many vehicles, need to get rid of .......

.......will trade for pick-up truck".

Huh? confuse

How about "Needs a tune up" which means the engine is shot.

Another favorite is "One of only 3 known to exist". How do you know that????

I won't even reply to those.

I'm sharing this because it happened very recently, and is along these lines;
There's a guy here who had some small bits for sale on kijiji and close to me, I figured "hey, those might be nice to have kicking around", then I notice no price.  I messaged him to ask his prince incase it was an oversight, and he replies, "make me an offer".
disbelief
I wanted to reply "$1"
biggrin
lol

I decided to not be a jerk, and instead didn't reply.

Great post...100% agree with what everyone else said. Why can't you just explain the product in detail and put a price, what's with all the vagueness and secrecy??? I think the 'make an offer' or 'call for price' is my biggest pet peeve, it's like the seller thinks he'll get 50% more than market value by doing that...I just don't get it.

I'll add the "ran great when parked" one, so why not simply get it running again??? Surely the cost to do that would be recouped a few times over by selling a running car versus one that doesn't?

Out here on the east coast you see alot of "Rig is in really great shape- just needs a couple small patches on the frame"...

Wanted. In the subject line, only wanted. No mention of what part, car, whatever, have to click and read the ad to see what is wanted.

I dont look at these ads, the poster is missing an opportunity to have someone who has what they want respond.

The crappy pictures on a 15k car does it for me. I sell a little $20 trinket of a part, and I try to include the best pictures I possibly can. I bet I've sold stuff just for that fact. Never had a bad interaction, I get etransfers no question.

Crappy pictures, to me just scream not serious and perhaps even a little shady.

How about folks who somehow select "Wanted" when posting on Kijiji when in fact they are really selling the car? I see that quite a bit.
