I saw this ad this morning. Curious about the stickers on the air cleaner. Could it be an L78? That would have had to be a dealer installed option. Could be an engine swap or just a bad choice of stickers? What are the odds?

Lotsa stuff right and lotsa stuff incorrect. Nice side trim. Would like to see docs and a little history.Hate to call and harass with no intention of buying.

If I'm correct no L78's in SD Beaumonts in any years. Only L34, L35's. Should have drippers in the valve covers if original to motor. Just look for the spot welds.

I called early yesterday afternoon , left a message with a return number, also emailed the guy same time too. Im guessing he must of had tons of calls , but Im still hoping to hear back from him, but so far nothing
Like you guys said, lots right, lots wrong, I have no doubt its a real 68 SD ,...but could need a lot too.
Would love to talk to him , so will I likely call again tomorrow...

That was kinda my concern too but am very curious to hear more about the car, hopefully the seller gets back to Ponchoheart.

When I first seen the listing on this 68 SD his price was $35,000 and later he changed the price to $45,000

I saw it too at $35,000 but when you clicked on the Ad to see pics, ...all of a sudden it was $45,000. In about two hours he had it changed to $45,000 so Im guessing it was just an honest mistake. Anyhow also called again today , left a message again.....no answer, no return call yet from either message....
Still like to think Ill get a call sometime....

No I think his wife told him he had to sell it so he thought well $35K should do it. After the response he saw he was getting he bumped it up $10K thinking"No one will buy it now" then he could tell his wife "Honey I tried but nobody wants this thing so I'll just have to keep it". The wife probably wants a mini van.........Come on, we know the game.

I absolutely love your read on the situation I agree he most likely wants to keep the car. How often do you find one of these cars with all the side trim. I have to admit when I lived in Manitoba I parted out a 1968 SD and yes I still have nightmares.

Ad has been deleted, last time I checked was over 2700 views, so either car wasn't even close to what it appeared as I would have expected with that many views SOMEONE would have bought .....or you're right, just didn't want to sell and pulled the ad. Who knows, maybe it will show up here smile
