I made a custom diamond quilted insulated winterfront that snaps in behind the grill, just like a bigrig. I have the doors closed up to only a hole the size of a cokecan and its got a 195. pumps out heat like crazy, way better than a modern car. but at minus 32 the guage only gets up to about 165 all day long.

MY BEAUMONT HAS 4 STUDDED TIRES AND 2 BLOCKHEATERS......AND LOTS OF OIL UNDERNEATH. The other one has a longer roof.
This thing wouldn't even exist after ten of driving years in our ocean climate, and with all of the road salt used. Congratulations on keeping this worthy car on the road and reliable year round.
I drove a 58 Ford wagon for one winter when I didn't have another car. The body was very solid as it had been an Alberta field car prior to my acquiring it. This was back in the mid 1980s. It was a 6 cyl manual trans car with a block heater. It handled very well in the snow and gave off good heat in the cold months. It had foot pump windshield washers. The only real downside for winter use were the vacuum wipers, which were virtually useless for my 90 km/hr morning and afternoon commutes in wet or snowy weather.
I think a through annual coating with rust check, Krown, etc would keep it from rusting, but dont miss a spot.
I have a 2002 Tacoma, rust proofed since new. The rockers, fenders, cab and box bottom are still mint. The ends of the front bumper rusted through, the top of the gas tank had a big hole under a strap, they never got hit with rust proofing. You get pretty well oiled if you do any work on the truck, but the greasy stuff really works.
Looks too like the Beaumont sees a regular dosing of road salt and it is well oiled too. It was a feature car, that explained the regular maintenance needed. Its still here after 54 years.
