Looks like a nice truck. Those 292s were great engines. Gobs of low end torque. Dad had one in a 69 half ton, 4x4. In 1st gear, low range, itd twist the driveline apart if you had the traction. Used to pull a 10x40 house trailer (bush camp) on logging roads, with no brakes on the trailer. Sure made the downhill sections exciting.
MANUAL TRANSMISSION SPLIT SHIFT
Does SPLIT SHIFT mean two speed rear axle? Ive also heard them called an Eaton axle.
I assume it is a 2-speed rear axle. We also called them a ruxle (not sure of spelling).
He says motor was rebuilt and new carb. No info on rear end or transmission
So if my google search is right, the "F" puts it as manufactured in Flint. Does that make it a US truck? Did they make these heavier trucks in Canada? Or would they all have come from Flint?
Its a nice truck, it does say split shift in the description so I would think it has a two speed axle. It has an aftermarket chrome grill for a pickup truck in it and it doesnt look right in my opinion. Heres what it should look like.
