Went for a bicycle ride today. And was forced to do the walk of shame.

So my daughter and I went for a bike ride up the hydro field path today. It is only about 5 kilometers each way, and there are mild hills. About a couple of k's in the handlebar cushion failed on the silver specialized. It hasn't been ridden in a few years and the rubber in the neck has wasted causing the bar to fall forward loose. So it was super windy today, gusts to 40, so going we had the wind at our back, so I could keep going and just pull the bar up and basically glide along smiling la de da. Well, the return was brutal. At a couple of hills she kept going on the old Kona, laughing at me as I was forced to get off the bike and walk the hills. The bar made it so I couldn't get up off the seat to drive down on the pedals. People even saw my having to dismount. Damn crappy bike!

So yea, it's a bike failure that caused the walk of shame. For some reason my wife says it's because I'm really out of shape. Hogwash, I used to ride to work 20 years ago.

What do you guys think about those E bikes...

I'm afraid my wife might be right. I'm pretty sore right now.

My older 66 year-old brother loves his balloon-tired e-bike.
