Wire gutter?

On my 65 6 cylinder rad support there was a plastic flat gutter that held wires crossing over the top from one side to the other.

It is held on to the support by 4 mounting hex head screws.  The plastic has long since vanished and am unable to

find anything in any parts catalogue.  What is the correct name for this part and any idea where repro available?

Its only on canadian 1965 chevelles and beaumonts.  US cars never had it.   Not reproduced at all.  I think its the same as the canadian pontiacs in 65 66.  Same holds true for them,  only in canada.   They are always damaged, cracked, and broken around the screws.   try to find one on a 65 66 canadian pontiac if you need one,  would probably be easier than trying to find a beaumont.

Oh boy and good luck with that too, they're always broken and brittle.

Also 65-66 Canadian built full size Chevy used it as well.

The harness didn't run across the top, it ran down lower on the US cars. It's weird but true.

On '64 Parisiennes it ran under the top channel of the rad support ... no plastic gutter.

How long is the gutter Chris? I might have something.

Sorry for long delay replying!  I was wrong there were 4 screws attaching it on top of rad support and 2 further out on the inside (engine) side of the top

crossmember of the support.  They have larger 3/4 inch washers under the metal screws.  I will attach 2 poorly lit photos.

So it is quite long. I only have very short plastic ones that were on a '64 Parisienne firewall (as per this picture).

One option is to find a 67-72 truck one.  they use a very similar long gutter accross the entire width of the rad craddle as well.   Its usually in decent shape when you find one used.   its better than nothing anyway!

I think that is the way to go! The 67-72 has lots of length and if too long easily whittled!
Restoration is coming along well. Just at the "where to stop" point. Gutted the interior and found
a few spots of floor concern. Heel of accelerator foot, middle cross brace under rear seat, and spare
tire compartment in rear. Not terrible but need replacing! And only 56 years old!

That sounds pretty good considering how most of those cars look today, if they are not already crushed.

The gutter looks like this one, in case anyone has a spare and needs a reference picture. Its not perfect but I have never seen one that is. They are usually broken and cracked everywhere. This one is not for sale as I need it for my car.

Awesome those photos will certainly come in handy! I have ordered a new hood to cowl weatherstrip am sure I can adapt the old one
to act as the wire gutter across the rad support! Should work just fine. Your 65 SD Vert is a beauty!

Looks like a relatively easy part for a 3D printer.

Ebay has reproductions of the '67-'72 Chevy truck front gutter:
