65 Parisienne conv on kijiji New Liskeard ( N Ont )

Used to know the car and owner 15+ years ago when I lived in N Ont

Was a nice car and have no reason to think that anything would have changed.

One of my favourite colour combinations.

They are only original once.

The car has a 283 V8 engine with a 2 speed power glide automatic transmission, power top, power windows, power steering and power brakes. This is a clean rust free car that has not been restored. It has been kept covered indoors unless he was driving it or washing it. The car has 91000 miles on it

I used to own this car. I sold it to the current owner in 1996. It looks the same as when I sold it and it was totally straight and rust free at that time. It was the most original and probably the best old car I ever owned. What originally caught my attention and drove me to buy it was the white on red interior. Of the nearly 80 cars I've owned since I received my license, this is one of less than 6 that had a red interior, and this was by far the best red interior car I owned.

If you are into 65 Pontiacs, this is the one to buy.

I could live with that for sure. Really nice.

For a rust and pit free 65 rag, 24 seems right and pretty painless.

Although I usually say that 65's make great parts cars for 66's, this one certainly has my attention. Wow, what a beauty. John, it must hurt to know you let this one slip away...

At the time I chose to sell it for good reasons related to safety for my then infant and toddler (now adult) children. I needed a four door, which led me to buy a 396 4 door HT 69 Caprice. But I thoroughly enjoyed the red on white Pontiac while I owned it. I put 30,000 summer miles on it  in nine years of ownership, during which I took a couple of long road trips outside my province. It was bulletproof and completely reliable.

I'd have to immediately change the tailpipe exits to stock and almost hidden. That's always been a pet peeve, big pipes exiting in the Catalina position on a CP.

But that appears about it. Those headlamps certainly give it a different look don't they?

Was searching my memory bank as I thought this car came from the Maritimes but couldn't be sure. Even emailed a friend to ask.

I'm assuming the skirts are an afterthought or something? The paint on them certainly doesn't match.

Not beating up on the car, I love it..........just an observation.

I'd love it for the unpitted diecast alone.

Interestingly this car is decked out the way I had it for much of my ownership: 65 Custom Sport spinner wheel covers, fender skirts, under dash gauges, halogen headlights and what you can't see here - a 65 Custom Sport vacuum gauge in the triple gauge pod that I installed after I got the car.

I had side exiting tail pipes for the duals but put the original single exhaust back on the car before I sold it. My preference is the side exit as well. But we each customize our cars the way we want them.

Another interesting thing about this car is that it had the wider 14 by 6 inch wheels as used on the station wagons. It came that way to me and that's how I sold it.

Do you remember aprox. how many miles were on it when you sold it?

39,000 when I got it in 1987, 69,000 when I sold it in 1996.

Clearly the current owner has looked after it very well.

That would be a nice summer convertible road trip from Newfoundland to Thunder Bay!

The new owner drove it home to northern Ontario with no issues save for a single flat tire.

New Liskeard is 1 1/2 hours north of North Bay, near the Quebec border.

My first car was a 65 CS with the same color combo. I liked the tone of the red interior so much that I debated on converting my current car from parchment, but in the end decided to stay with how it was built.

Agree. It's a beautiful tone of red inside. I first saw my car in 1980 but it was not offered for sale until 1987 when I bought it immediately.

Its a beauty and good to know its a rust free convertible. Most of them leaked and rusted from being left outside. I like the original exhaust exit as well, one of these days I may do that on my 63. The exhaust I have came off my 59.

That's a beauty and priced reasonably as well.  I too love the white/red colour combo.

The exhaust as is doesn't bother me - I hate it when the exhaust tips stick out like 6 inches or more (I suspect to keep the carbon off the bumper?), but these look to be well done at least, even though not original.

Actually, as far as the tips go, they are at least well done. I get that it's splitting hairs and going too far on such a sweet car.

Maybe I'll hit the new ATM installed on the side of my now million dollar home and take a drive up!

Can go up and back in a day.

If you want a co-pilot ( nagivator ) let me know.
