Stouffville, ON. 5k

Used to be a 4 speed car. The 3rd pedal is still in place!

With a major infusion of cash and sweat, it could be a really nice bench 4 speed ragtop Parisienne. How nice would that be?

Would it have been a bench always?

I thought 4 speed cars came with a tach. I don't see a trace of one here.

Column shift? Maybe no tach unless floor shifted? Owner states ex 4 speed on FB. Hmm?

Agreed, the first thing I did when I saw you say four-speed car was look at the dash and noticed there's no hole there. Maybe it was a three-speed manual or maybe the dash has been changed but it certainly doesn't give an indication of a factory 4-speed car when you look at the dash. I think the cowl tag would be the telltale though, it should have M20 on it if it was a 4-speed car.

Definitely not a factory manual car with that factory style automatic brake pedal and an F or X body style clutch pedal. Another faux attempt to deceive the buying public.

Yes, it all seems odd. The speedo does appear to have the PRNDL indicator.

Why the heck would anyone go to the trouble with the pedal?

First thing I noticed was the auto brake pedal - can you imagine how easy it would be to accidentally jam on the brakes when you're hammering down on the clutch for a quick shift?  Do not drive it with workboots on... lol

My guess would be a half-hearted attempt to start a 4-speed conversion, but they gave up partway through?  Weird, though, as you would expect other things to be done first, before installing a clutch pedal... I guess.

I've asked the seller for a shot of the cowl tag. He says he will.

99.9% M35. But, there is a .1% of doubt... ha.
