Power Glide won’t move car

So hauling company needs cars to move under its own power. He says it will move about a foot thats all. Car rolls so brskes not seized. Tranny is full of oil. Any thing we should try to get this thing to move?

Is it in Calgary?

If they can just get it to Winnipeg I can pick it up and bring it here. Somebody in Winnipeg must have a Powerglide lying around that I could swap into it.

Could try tightening the low band. Might be gone.

When these cars were popular I worked on dozens that would come in for a replacement powerglide. I would pull the dipstick and if the oil was nice and red I would put it on the hoist and put the torque converter bolts back in. This was a common problem and the bolts would usually laying in the flywheel cover. Of course these cars wouldnt even try to move. I wonder if it actually tries to move or if it just rolled a bit when he took it out of park? I assume its a powerglide?

i will ask him if the fluid is red. If the converter is not turning would the fluid be high on the stick?

Depends on long it's sat?? Converter will drain it;s self back to trans. If converter not bolted to flex plate it "ain't gonna move"

My old Power Glide before the conversion wouldn't move....

for temporary fix to get it in and out of the garage I used Lucas and it worked.

(short term fix only)...and not that expensive.

24 oz. Lucas Transmission Fix-10009 - The Home Depot

Does it work?  Worked for me.
