RR Inner Window Felt for 71 Pontiac Lemans Sport Convertible Required.

Hi There,

Still seeking a right rear inner panel window felt for my 71 Lemans Convertible.

I purchased a complete premium set from Ames Performance.

I ended up having a warranty issues with this defective window felt as the rubber separated from the metal mounting trim when the window was rolled down.

I contacted Ames about the issue, but never got anywhere with them on the matter. They just stopped responding to my e-mails...

I think it may have been due to a time issue from when I received the felt kit to the time I installed it and found out there was an issue approx 4 months later.

No issues with the rest of the new felts in the kit, just this on piece.

Let me know if anyone has an un-used felt from a kit or an old one in decent shape.

Kicking myself, I should of removed the old ones more carefully, live and learn...

Thanks Frank

That's a great idea Dale, thank you. Hopefully I still have the paper work in the packaging? I'll check.

I don't fault AMES, they just sell the stuff, but they should have looked after my issue a bit better,

not to just stop responding to my e-mail.

Myself, I should of installed the felts when I received them to notice the problem sooner.

Getting older,  brain and body not functioning like it once did...

Thanks Dale

I agree Pontiacanada, they love sending the junk...
I looked into the packaging of the left over window felts, but I was not able to find the Manufactures Label, must have tossed it...
I'm pretty sure the next time I have the panel off I'll find a good rubber adhesive to re stick it together, and or adjust the panel
so that there is less pressure on the inner window felt when rolling the window up or down.
Thanks
Frank B.
