1957 Pathfinder front brake drums

Hello Folks,  Time to do the front brake on the old girl.  Don't drive it much so I was going to stick to the original drum setup.  I haven't rip every thing apart yet, but I have noticed on rock auto that the Canadian Pontiacs have 12" front brakes.  They list the shoes but I can't find 12"drums anywhere on the net.  Will the 11" chevy drum and shoe work in this application without me having to run around looking for backing plates?

Don

It sounds to me like RockAuto has a mistake in their catalog if they list 12 inch front shoes on your car. I'm quite sure that your car will have 11 inch front shoes exactly the same as a 57 Chevy would.

If its a Canadian Pontiac it will have chevy brakes and if I remember the front and rear drums are the same. The drums were used on the rear of full size Chevrolet cars up to 1970.

The drums are the same as chevrolet front and rear. The shoes are 11x2 in front and 11x1.75 in rear.
