What a great read and story Bernie. what a nice memory.

I guess our American cousins have been calling us Crazy Canucks for a long time, usually with a story of great courage and adventurism to go with!

Yes what a great memory. I did a similar trip a little later in the mid 70s with a buddy in my Vette too. Went as far as the Mexican border at Tijuana. Some of those places like Pomona and Joshua Tree are my winter hangouts now. Memories can never be taken away and I appreciate them more each year as I get older.
